Week 1

April 12, 2018

While brainstorming different toy ideas, we decided that we wanted to design a toy that was fun for kids of many ages. Narrowing down topics, and coming up with new ideas proved to be challenging. Ideas of app related games, physical activities, and remote controlled cars were thrown around. We then chose to do one that incorporated puzzles and 3D objects. Finally, the group decided on "PuzNetix!" Go check out our Project Overview on the home page to learn more!

Continuing the development of the PuzNetix pieces, we designed an example piece using Fusion 360, shown in figure 1. The first picture shows the perspective of the interior. The small divots within the piece would be reserved for magnets.

Because we were inspired by a Rubik's Cube, we decided to make one "set" a colored cube. So, as seen in figure 2, the colored exterior of the cube is shown. Once every piece is created and connected, the colored cube will be complete.
